Just the name and the fact that they are very expensive because of that. I personally don’t think any of her designs are flattering or remotely attractive compared to other less expensive designers.

Vera Wang is a very high end designer. Her collection isn’t off the rack type styles. Maybe one or two of each dress in her collection is made available each season.

The fabric she uses is very high end and hand picked. It isn’t the “Stock” fabric you’ll find David’s Bridal dresses made out off. Also, most of those items are hand cut and hand sewn.

Again, a David’s Bridal or even Maggie Sottero (who I love) might cut their dresses on a machine, by a pattern.

Vera Wang also specializes in custom made gowns, if you can afford it. All the fabric and bead work will be done by hand. It isn’t something that’s made in a factory or by a machine.

Vera Wang also has an amazing eye for detail and design. Not everyone can keep re-inventing ways to use fabric, patterns and details on wedding gowns. Vera Wang has proven to innovated, which makes her such a great designer.
